Ooh, just realised that I hadn't updated for a couple of days and not really sure what I've been up to.
Lets see, Wednesday night I went to the cinema with the globe trotting Emma. We went to see It's complicated and had a lovely evening. It was the first grown up movie I've seen at the cinema in over ten years and it was very odd to not have the girlies in tow but we're planning to go again.
Yesterday Lottie Lou had her first appointment at the Orthodontist. Lots of form filling, xrays, photos, rubber tooth compound stuff and strange face pulling later we found out that she has an adult tooth missing. Most bizarre but apparently it's quite common and can be hereditary.
We were actually refered for the tooth that is known here as *the fang*. We thought that it was the only tooth that was in the wrong place but it turns out that it's the only one in the right place.
We have two options to ponder and the easier one is to put a plate behind her teeth to push them out. They will then fit the train tracks to push them back in. It will be a fairly long process but definitely worth it.
The other option involves removing a couple of teeth but he's not so keen on that one. The Orthodontist is lovely and I loved him even more when he told us it would be FREE. We're back again next month to see the models and decide what to do next.
As for the missing adult tooth? We're reserving judgement on that one but it may mean having an implant fitted as it's near the front of her bottom teeth.
So what with Miss Muffin's eyes and now Lottie Lou's teeth we really don't do things by halves. At the moment Lottie Lou is more concerned about giving up chocolate.

After seeing the lovely Cath's fabulous new stamp storage I came over all *Single white female*. Do you remember that mad movie? Gave me nightmares for yonks.
Anyway, I digress. We had to go out this morning to collect Miss Muffin's other glasses so we swung by Hobbycraft on the way back.
They actually had some of the storage boxes so I purchased five and whizzed home to play. Ok, I didn't quite whizz home and play as we did have spaghetti on toast for lunch. I need to say that I absolutely hate tinned spaghetti but for some bizarre reason I am loving Crosse & Blackwell tinned spaghetti and at four tins for a pound it's a bit of a bargain.
Anyhoo, after lunch I sorted out my basket of stamps into themes and now my wood backed stamps are all tucked up in nicely labelled boxes under my table.
Get me being all Mrs Organised.
Taekwon-do this evening and then back home to a mad dog who thought we'd run off to be sailors and left her. The girlies have a month of Monday sessions on top of their usual class to make up for the classes they missed over Christmas and due to the snow.

I can see my path and the slabs in the back garden so fingers crossed. How terribly English have we all become being so obsessed by the weather.
I've been having a play and deciding what I need for my kitchen now it's finished. Have to say that I love the cream but they don't call me *Mrs Cream* for nothing.
The girlies were back at Taekwon-do so we're slowly returning to normality. Poor Lottie Lou was really nervous before she went but was absolutely fine once she got there. At least she recognises that the feeling funny is due to her being nervous and not poorly.
Honestly, don't get me started on the damage one terrible teacher can do to a child. But, she is so much better than she was and I am sure that karma will bite the teacher firmly on the bottom one day.

Ooh, just a note to mark that it's 11 years today since my Mum died. I look at people I know who are 51 and suddenly realise how young she was. Mind you, I had thirty one great years with her and it could never compare to a child losing a parent so I can't complain xxx
Finally, I can invite people in without saying *please excuse the kitchen*.
The very dated tiles under the cupboards are now painted cream but they don't show up very well here.
We left these tiles as you can't use the tile paint near the cooker. I have to say that the cooker is pretty hideous as it the brown sink but they will have to stay until we do the kitchen properly.
Finally, I painted the panel on the cupboard door with some blackboard paint we already had. The girlies love drawing on it. I'm just waiting for Graham to put the trim between the two bottom doors. You can see it on top of the cupboard next to the basket.
So, that is my bargainous zuched up kitchen. I just need to go shopping for some fancificating bits and I'll be done. The zuching up bits came in at about £100 but it's the extras that bump up the cost. I shall have to search out some bargain pretties.

Not much, just the word of the moment ...... Snow ....... Nuff said!!!

We started our kitchen before Christmas and did pretty well but then the snow came. It's so typical that you have the time but you haven't got the stuff you need.
Anyhoo, we finally got the bits we were waiting for and managed to get out for some tile paint and we're almost done.
It was VERY green and it isn't now.
I'm really not sure who thought those tiles went with the green wall but hey ho.
There's just one job left to do but I shall have to wait for Graham to do that. I bought a bargain tap but he's not had a chance to fit it yet.
I shall take some new piccies tomorrow and hopefully it wlll look a lot better.

I feel like I've been stuck indoors forever. The girlies' friends have gone back to school and silence descended.
We've played games, made lego models, read, talked laughed and even cried. Well, Millie Muffin did in frustration with her Lego. We've hit the books and even resorted to the tv.
We did ponder venturing out but it's still like a skating rink and my ankle has been good for a while now. All I need to do is slip and I'll be back to square one. Listen to me sounding like a pensioner with my ailments.
Hopefully it should start clearing a bit now. It's definitely warming up and Graham has been clearing some tracks in the road with the neighbours this evening. With any luck we'll get the rain forecast for Wednesday and it will wash most of it away.
How exciting is my life? Uber it is uber.

Ooh, Paula and Kathryn you are both absolutely right and a loss is a loss and much better than a gain.
Like most of the country I really could do with seeing a different colour when I look out of the window. I think the girlies are getting bored with it now as they didn't bother going out today. This is highly unusual for Miss Muffin who gets cabin fever if she's indoors for more than an hour.
Thankfully, we didn't get the 20cm forecast as Graham has to be up and out early tomorrow. He's got to go to Reading and he really, really doesn't want to go. I can't say that I blame him.
*In other news*
I weighed in today and had lost the grand sum of 1.5lbs which really isn't a lot. I can't argue though as I've done hardly any exercise and we're eating a fair bit of cupboard/convenience food due to the lack of shopping being done.

So, I've decided on my goals and even comitted them to paper. Now, to remind myself of what I really, really want to help me achieve them.
I should say that I can ride a bike but I haven't in years so it could be interesting.
I would dearly love the Pashley poppy in the piccie but I am happy for any retro style with a basket on the front.
It's on my wish list for when I have shed some weight and the weather improves.

So, I am really bored with the snow but the girlies just can't get enough of it. They have been out most of today popping back here and to a friends for a warm up.
I had to run them a bath when they came in for dinner as they were frozen. I guess they don't notice it when they are running around but they are having fun and that's all that matters.
I'm cracking on with my sorting out and I can finally see the floor in my little playroom. I really want to get it finished so that we can sit in here and craft away to our hearts content.
I shall pop some more piccies on here as I do each room. Hopefully, they will remind me of what they are supposed to look like.
